The James' journey from Vancouver, via Seattle, Victoria, and Jasper to Calgary.
The journey
It all started over a year ago. We have friends in Calgary and thought it would be be great to visit them. But if we were to travel that far we felt we should Do the Tour. Our first plan was a round trip from Seattle, via Yellowstone National Park to Calgary. Then we wondered where we would have time to relax. So after lots of research, greatly aided by our Canadian friends we have a new travel schedule. We will fly from London to Vancouver with a few days to recover. Amtrak to Seattle then on to Victoria where they are having the Tall Ships event. Hopefully we will have a chance to get close up to some whales. Then back to Vancouver to pick up a car and a drive over the Rockies to Jasper. Finally onto Calgary to stay with our friends and see the opening parade of the Stampede. I expect to take a few photos, around 600+ per day, so After the holiday don't expect to hear from me for a few months while I process them. Kathleen has been wonderful today chauffeuring us around the Banff and Yoho National Parks. We did a great deal of travelling, walking and climbing and it is too late to type it all up now. More tomorrow...
